What we do

Blocked drains and jetting High-pressure water jetting rather than rods — round bends, the full length of the run, and back to the true bore of the pipe. Most blockages clear on the first visit.

CCTV drain surveys Every section graded, every defect coded to MSCC and positioned in metres, a site plan of the system, and the full video. The report comes back the same day, by NADC-certified surveyors.

The thing that makes us different

We do not carry out drain repairs, relining or excavation.

Most firms who survey your drains also quote for fixing them. We do not, and we never have. So when a survey says a section is failing, we have nothing to gain from saying so — and when it says everything is sound, that is worth something too.

It is the single most useful thing to know about us before you ring.

Drain rods laid out on wet paving beside a lifted cast-iron manhole cover, with a jetting hose coiled alongside
Rods push a hole through a blockage. Jetting scours the pipe back to its full bore, which is why a rodded drain can block again within weeks.

Why people call

Buying a house. A standard homebuyer’s survey does not go underground at all. Ours does, and the report is written so it can go straight to a solicitor. Homebuyer drain surveys

A drain that keeps blocking. Repeat blockages are a symptom, not a cause. A camera finds the root, the stepped joint or the broken section behind them.

Building an extension. If a public sewer runs under or near where you want to build, Severn Trent will want to know its line, depth and condition before they agree to anything — and if it cannot be built over, a section 185 diversion needs the same evidence. Build over agreements and sewer diversions

An emergency. What to do while you wait, and whether the blockage is even yours to pay for.

Local, and it matters more than it sounds

Our yard is in Wolverhampton, not near it. Most of the city is inside twenty minutes and the Black Country is close behind.

It also means we know what we are looking at. Ground across this region has been worked for coal, limestone, ironstone and fireclay for two centuries, and a century of uneven settlement since is why displaced joints are the defect we log most often — in Bilston and Tipton especially. Post-war estates across the Black Country, Telford and Redditch are full of pitch fibre, which deforms rather than cracks and cannot be repaired in place. Wolverhampton sits on sandstone that lets fine material wash out of an open joint until the pipe drops into the void.

None of that is on a national franchise’s script.

Areas we cover

Real surveys, written up

We publish what we actually find, anonymised to town and postcode district. A Penn property with fifteen defects across eight runs. A Dudley system with root ingress at four separate points. A Walsall survey that came back graded A with nothing wrong at all.

Case studies

Who owns your drain

Since the 2011 private sewer transfer, Severn Trent owns most shared drainage and everything beyond your property boundary. If your blockage is on a shared run, it may be theirs to clear at no cost to you — and we will tell you if that is what we find rather than invoicing you for it.

Worth knowing across this area: South Staffs Water supplies the drinking water but does not handle sewerage. For drainage, Severn Trent is the right number.
